Are you concerned about Maine's children and their future?

Founded in 1916, the Maine PTA is an independent organization of parents, educators, students and other citizens active in their schools and communities. It is the oldest and largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the state. Membership is available to any one who cares about the health, education and welfare of children and youth.

Our grassroots network of over 100 local PTA units and 3,500 members is uniquely situated to influence the lives of youth-we are organized where the children are. Our local PTA leaders work out of their homes and from schools, with teachers, school leadership, community agencies and civic leaders, to develop family and community-building programs. They are champions for children and involve themselves in local, state and sometimes national efforts to impact their health, education and welfare.

Members of a local PTA automatically become members of the state and national PTA and hence the PTA's far reaching voice for children. Membership does not equal active involvement but by becoming a member you demonstrate your support for our mission and purposes (see our home page).

We invite you to become part of this state wide network of child advocates and Maine's voice for children by joining PTA here, on-line, today! When we receive your application and fee, you will receive a membership card and the most recent issue of the Maine PTA Connection, our quarterly newsletter.

Simply fill out and submit the form below and mail your check for $25.00 separately. You will be put on our mailing lists to receive our newsletter and notice of upcoming events and activities sponsored by the Maine PTA.
